2006-07-31 - 8:22 p.m. One of my co-workers brought me back a pink conch shell from a Belizian beach. I'd asked him to bring me a shell and this morning he brought me in a plain shell which I was a tad disappointed in because I thought they'd have prettier shells on a beach in Belize. Then he said 'this is the shell I really brought you' and pulled out a big honking conch shell. It's not a pretty shell either but I like it. It's sandblasted and mottled and worn and cracked. It's got character. It's halfway between being a young pretty shell and returning unto sand. It's very yonical - frilled and pink. Very Georgia O'Keefe-like. It makes me think of her cattle skull paintings. Maybe I'll paint it.
